We have a 2 phase approach to our critical housing crisis in Johnson County, Texas
At Compassion Connection of Texas, our mission is to uplift and empower vulnerable community members by providing compassionate support, essential resources, and strong advocacy for families in need, especially children, domestic violence victims, and seniors. As a two-time domestic violence survivor and a mother of three, I understand the gravity of these issues. Our commitment extends to addressing the critical challenges of child abuse and homelessness, with a focus on protecting the innocent and vulnerable.
We are launching the CCofTx Housing Initiative Program to combat homelessness, starting with Phase 1, which targets homeless seniors and families with children. In Phase 2, we will focus on providing safe, secure housing for domestic violence victims and their children, offering comprehensive support, including mental health services, medical care, job training, legal assistance, and pathways to permanent, abuse-free housing.
Below are some of the general details of the 2 phases.
Phase 1 This phase of our program focuses on the homeless seniors and families with children and provides them with safe, clean place to live. Most will have roommates with another Senior Individual due to lack of space (It all depends on the situation). ALL applicants will be well vetted before entering our program.
In Burleson, Texas, many seniors aged 60 and older are currently living on the streets or in their cars, lacking basic necessities such as food, privacy, private bathrooms, private showers and beds.
Our "Housing Initiative" aims to provide these seniors as well a families with children that are homeless, with safe, clean, and affordable housing.
Phase 2 Extends support to other financially distressed individuals with children and domestic violence victims and includes a Program Case Manager that will provide counseling to the family with regards to housing assistance, job training, and educational programs to help these individuals secure permanent housing and achieve financial independence. We will also offer legal resources to help with any legal matters (eg. divorce.)
